Maybe We are Talking About Malingas Effect

Al began with a video posted on the social media showing the Mayor of Malingas Town, Jesús María García, pledging the people for help due to the San Francisco Creek had increased so much until interrupting the transportation between the Cities of Tambogrande and Chulucanas. Heavy rains, usual every Summer, made the creek to grow. But the people was accostumed to the overflow, so they improvised boats to cross it. But now, the water flow came very dangerous. Crossing had been a suicide. So the video had successful results for Malingas. First, the national media. Then, a minister. Today, Mayor García expects the visit of Peru's President Martín Vizcarra. The leader of 14.000 people meets the leader of 29 million people, the 14.000 included. We don't know what President Vizcarra is going to say, but we have clear what Mayor García is going to do: demanding the bridge over the creek to be built. Todo comenzó con uun video que la alcaldesa de Malingas, Jesús María García Varillas, colgó en las redes sociales. Mostraba cómo la quebrada de San Francisco había alcanzado niveles tan grandes que cruzarla era un acto de suicidio. Llamó la atención de los medios por hacerse viral, y el resto casi es historia. Ahora la alcaldesa de una comunidad rural de apenas 14 mil habitantes, en el distrito dde Tambogrande, Piura, da entrevistas a medios nacionales. Y lo hace con mucha seguridad, firmeza y sin olvidar cuál es su mensaje fuerte: necesitamos un puente. llegaron varios medios, llegó una ministra y hoy les llega el presidente del Perú, Martín Vizcarra Cornejo. Sí, la alcaldesa de una comunidad de 14 mil habitantes srecibe al líder de una nación de 29 millones (los 14 mil incluídos). Y todo gracias a un video e ideas claras. Ahora el reto es insistir para que no solo se haga el puente sobre la quebrada de San Francisco sino sobre varias quebradas que, cuando llueve fuerte en verano, lo interrumpen todo, imposibilitan el comercio, ponen en riesgo la vida si hubiese una emergencia.
