Feminicide, gay rights

Is Qatar a homophobic country?

We commemorated another World’s Day to Eliminate the Violence against Women. It was on November 25th. Are we on our way to get this goal?

In Peru, there is a feminicide open case. The victim was Blanca Olivia Arellano Gutierrez. She was Mexican. When she was killed, she was 51 years old.

Arellano came to Peru as a tourist. Juan Pablo Villafuerte Pinto could have her. Villafuerte was a Medicine student in Huacho, Peru.

Arellano and Villafuerte could become friends. Eventually, both got engaged.

Blanca Arellano called constantly to her relatives in Mexico. But since November 6th, her voice turned off. Three days later, some fishers found her corpse. It was quartered and abandoned at a beach.

Juan Pablo Villafuerte turned the key suspect. Peruvian Police hunted him. He was eventually caught.

The prosecutor supposes that Villafuerte razed any clue. Possibly, he used his knowledge in Human Medicine. In fact, he technically could delete marks on Arellano’s body.

Villafuerte is prevently detained for 9 months. During that time, the prosecutor has to fulfill the investigation. At the moment, detectives continue finding indications. A new suspicious connect this crime to organs trafficking.

Until August 2022, Peru’s Ministry of Woman and Vulnerable Population reported 75 feminicides. In other words, in peru, 1 woman is killed for the fact of being a woman, every 4 days. Peruvian officials recognize the trend raises every year. In Peru, feminicide is a crime.

How much are we taking this issue in charge? Watch my statement

Qatar.

The organization in charge of the Soccer World Cup was very criticized. There are accusations of inequitative treatment to women. Also, banning and persecution against LGTBIQ community.

Soccer players were going to wear a bracelet. It advocates the sexual diversity. The players were not allowed to do that.

Germany, England, Netherlands, Wales, Denmark, Belgium – their captains promised to wear the One Love bracelet. Qatar authorities assumed it as a violation to their  culture. The captains ended to dismiss the idea. But they announced legal actions. Their purpose is reversing that prohibition.

LGTBIQ advocates said to be deceived of FIFA. In their judgement, FIFA is allied to their aggressors.

Nasser Mohammed is the first openly-gay Qatarian. He stated that Qatar is a country of homophobes.

Homophobia is the violent and systematic rejection to homosexuality. Qatar punishes gays with the jail. The legal real reason is… unknown.

Openly-gay professional soccer players decided not to go to Qatar.

Of course, FIFA pitched us other picture – Japanese fans cleaning a stadium.

Time Zone, Twitter, and Heart

Keeping fit – what part of your body will thank it to you? And: A popular bird has a new owner… and new problems.

UTC -6…  forever

Mexico returned its usual time zone. It means 6 hours less than universal Time Coordinated (UTC). This also means 1 hour less than Peruvian Time(PET).

During Northern Summer, Mexico used to move its clock 1 hour forward. This is not going to happen anymore. Mexican Senators Chamber stopped a tradition that began in 1996.

That summer, Mexico’s Government added 60 minutes to its local time. The promise was saving more energy – 26 years later, it was discovered that goal was never reached.

Mexico owns two time zones:

  • Central Time, which holds the most of the republic, including Mexico City. This is similar to the Central Time in the United States.
  • The another is Baja California Peninsula Time. It’s also known as Pacific Time or PT. It’s 7 hours less than UTC. This is 2 hours less than PET.

By the way, Peru tried to have a summer time in 1987. It promised to save energy. The idea was furtherly dismissed because it didn’t save any energy. Also, many people woke up inclusive when it was nightly sky.

Does your country move the clock in the summer? Tell me on my social media. Find me as @nelsonsullana, YouTube inclusive.

Worry tweet

The blue bird lost the half of its employees. The billionaire elon Musk recently bought the micro blogging service. Musk paid 44 billion dollars for the purchase.

However, the new administration entered with new rules:

  • First, banning the fake news accounts.
  • Second, stopping loses, estimated in 4 million dollars per day.
  • Third, engaging the advertisers again, trying to ignore the advocacy lobbies.
  • Fourth,cutting job positions.

Twitter, the key division of Twitter Incorporated, was created in San Francisco, California. It was launched on March 21st, 2006. Currently, it joins over 340 million users around the world. To have a perspective, Facebook is still atop: it has 2.9 billion active users. This is around 40% of world’s population.

The problem for Twitter is the future for 2024.  It only expects around 1.5% in users growth.

There is much disappointment after the elon Musk’s decision. And the feeling goes around the globe. Many brokers still remain skeptical.

Others are looking for another signal. Maybe Musk’s target is not Twitter, but X. This plans to be the greatest application in the world. There  is not much information about X.

By the way, I’m a Twitter user since 2012. Other FACTORTIERRA Media accounts on Twitter are @factortierra for science, arts, education, tourism, and technology. Also @chulucanasgym for bodybuilding and fitness stories.

Protect your heart

Are you still considering to fee a membership? Do it now – your heart will thank it to you.

Cardiovascular diseases are the deadliest across the planet. We are talking about 17.3 million people. This is the number of who lose the fight. It equals the half of actual Peruvian population.

By 2030, specialists expect an increase. Around 23.7 million may lose the fight.

Those data come from Pan-American Health Organization.

How to avoid to be part of these numbers? The first answer is physical activity. Cardiologist recommend to spend 150 minutes per month. Obviously, that’s the minimum, but it could save your life. If you want better results, spend 200 minutes per month.

World Health Organization recommends 30 daily minutes of physical activity. It may prevent a lot of health risks.

In my personal case, I combine power and aerobic routines. It keeps me in-shape. But, coming out from a family with heart diseases history, that’s not a hobby in my case. That’s my personal duty. Make it yours too.
