Peru faces two sanitarian crisis – In one hand, the fifth wave of Covid-19. In the other, a bird flu outbreak.
The new Covid19 wave was
already warned. The government chose not to hold the control. On December 1st,
it had to reverse in part.
Masks are suggested in closed
places, low-ventilation spaces, as well.
Biosecurity is mandatory
where shows are offered. About this point, Health Ministry announced fines. They
apply if the facility violates the rule.
The decision will be reviewed
around December 15th.
Bird flu.
The outbreak began at shores
of Piura and Tumbés Departments. Pelicans died massively. Other coastal birds
were also affected. Progressively, poultry has been infected too.
Authorities asked the people not to take or touch the died birds. They recommended to contact the National Service of Agrarian Sanity, Senasa, as in Spanish. Get info in Spanish on senasa.gob.pe.
At the moment, eating chicken
or turkey in Peru is still safe. Consuming eggs is safe too. I stress – this applies
at the moment.
